The Early Learning Center and SWL partner with Licking County's YMCA to provide wraparound services for families that are interested.

YMCA Preschool at the Southwest Licking Early Learning Center

Program Location:

Program Hours: 7:30 AM-5:00 PM Monday-Friday or AM session 9:00-11:30 AM Monday-Friday

Program Options: (*ALL PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO YEARLY INCREASE THAT WILL OCCUR IN THE FALL*)

YMCA Full Time- $156.00/week

SWL/YMCA Full Time- $156.00/week (Mon-Fri 7:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. with 2.5 hours spent in a SWL classroom) Child must be enrolled into the SWL ELC thru the school district if you choose this option.

YMCA Part time (AM only)- $58.00/week (Mon-Fri 9:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. YMCA only)

Registration:

If you are interested in participating in the YMCA preschool program at the Southwest Licking Early Learning Center, please follow these steps:

1.    Contact our Child Development office at 740-964-1045

2.    Schedule an appointment for registration

3.    Complete all registration documents prior to registration appointment (forms will be emailed to you)

4.    Submit a $35.00 non-refundable/transferable registration fee

Tuition:

Tuition is due every Monday and is considered late by end of business day Tuesday.

A $15.00 late payment fee will be applied to student account if tuition is not received by end of business day Tuesday.

Payment can be made in the form of a check, money order, credit card. We also have online payment and automatic bank draft options.

Financial Assistance:

Financial assistance is available through the Job and Family Service and the YMCA. If you are an approved PFCC participant or scholarship participant, you will need to provide proof of services prior to enrollment. Additional information is available upon request.

Participant Eligibility:

-Students 3yrs- 5 yrs of age

-Fully potty trained (no pull-ups or diapers permitted)

Curriculum:

The YMCA will implement Creative curriculum. The Creative Curriculum is a comprehensive curriculum that covers all domains of early learning. The content of each unit is built around a carefully crafted daily routine within an activity-centered day. Themes, skills and concepts are developed through center focused play and learning. The consistent format and features in every unit makes it easy for teachers to use and children to learn.

Program Assessments:

Each student participating in the YMCA preschool program will complete the Ages and Stages (ASQ) student questionnaire. This is an initial student/parent questionnaire to assess where a student is at developmentally and used as a guide to develop student goals. Throughout the school year, teachers will utilize the Early Learning Assessment tool to aid teachers in determining where children are in their readiness for kindergarten.

Sample Daily Schedule:

7:30-8:00 Centers, Art & Crafts, Free play

8:00-8:30 Breakfast Snack (Provided by the YMCA)

8:30-9:00 Small Groups

9:00-9:15 Morning Meeting

9:15-10:15 Circle time and Curriculum

10:15-10:45 Gross Motor or Outside Play (use of indoor gym when needed)

10:45- 11:30 Learning Centers

11:30- 12:15 Lunch (Parents provide)

12:15- 12:30 Prepare for nap/yoga/calm down time

12:30-2:30 Nap time

2:30-3:00 Restrooms/snack time (snack provided by YMCA)

3:00-3:30 Afternoon meeting

3:30-4:00 Small group

4:00-4:30 Gross motor play or Outside Play (use of indoor gym when needed)

4:30-5:00 Free play Centers, Arts & Crafts

5:00 Program closes

Meals & Snacks:

The YMCA will provide a morning snack and an afternoon snack. Participants enrolled in full day preschool will be responsible to pack a healthy well-balanced lunch for their child daily. We will not have access to heat up any lunches (cold lunch items only).

What to Bring to school:

*Small backpack

*Change of clothes (including shoes)

*Nap time items (small blanket, pillow, comfort item)

*Water bottle

*Take home folder (teacher provided)
