About the Board

Kandee Engle, Vice-President, is proudly serving in her 3rd term as a board member.  She is committed to supporting diverse learners while ensuring students receive a high-quality education. She values fiscal responsibility and careful stewardship of taxpayer funds. Kandee works at Arthur N. Ulrich Company in inside sales and technical support and, along with her husband Dan, is a proud parent of twin daughters who graduated from SWL in 2022.

Michael Miller is a Human Services Developer for the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. Michael and his wife, Erin, have two children currently attending Southwest Licking Schools.

Debra Moore, President, is proudly serving in her 4th term as a board member.  Deb has three active kids in the SWL school district and a husband who often volunteers as a coach.  Deb works full time in the field of Developmental Disabilities.

Dr. Tanya Moore has over 20 years of experience in the district as a teacher, building administrator, and district administrator. Tanya has degrees in Early Childhood Education, Principal Licensure, Superintendent Licensure and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership.  Tanya and her husband are proud parents of children attending Southwest Licking Schools, and she remains actively involved in the school and local community.  Tanya is currently a Program Chair at Franklin University in the College of Education.

Catherine Spindler is serving their third term, elected to the Southwest Licking Board of Education. She and her husband Ryan have lived in the district for 26 years. Together, they have three children who have either attended or are currently attending Southwest Licking schools. Catherine's oldest child is currently a teacher in the district. Catherine works full time as a Program Manager in Operations for Molina Healthcare of Ohio, Inc.
